Your Projectionist has been saddened, as has the entire Canadian folk scene, by the passing away of Kate McGarrigle at the age of 63.
For some of you, the surname alone will be sufficient. Kate and Anna McGarrigle made music that had a distinct sound and character, that sounded like nothing else in the genre.
Thanks to the efforts of CBC producer Sarah Liss — who writes more on the CBC's Things That Go Pop! blog — we can at least view this short concert piece together, made at the Royal Albert Hall in London, England last year:
